In order to work with the LED Strip, you will need the NeoPixel Library. In the 1.6 versions of the IDE, Go to Sketch>Include Library>Manage Libraries... and search for NeoPixel. Click on it and then click Install (Choose the latest version) OR This link: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NeoPixel has the library.
