Now Playing metadata?

Hi there!

I'm trying to find a solution for getting the now playing (or any other interesting metadata) out of my phone whilst connected to car play.

I have a Chinese head unit running Carplay (I currently have a purchased Wireless Carplay adapter running Autokit but I'm not adverse to using a Raspberry Pi and the 'wired' version).

I do mostly web based stuff and a bit of python, so was wondering if anyone could maybe point me in the right direction as going through all the C is slow going for me!

Is anyone aware of a handler hiding away in this project that any metadata like that is passed through I could tap into?
