Should save edited code persistently every time "execute" is used

I just, out of habit, accidentally typed Cmd-R (in Xcode: Run project) which caused a Reload of the web page. With that, most of my recent edits were lost, and I only got a much older edit back.

Couldn't you save the current code to a cookie whenever I hit "execute" and reload from cookie upon refresh, or something like that?
