Hi,
Kick fails when subdividing a primvar of type string, but hydra does not complain.
Could they both have the same behavior, and probably fail ?
You can find attached a simple scene:
hydra render does not fail
Run kick -i invalid_data_type_string.usda -default_nodes all -v 6 Fails with
00:00:00 184MB WARNING | attempting to subdivide string data type!
00:00:00 184MB WARNING | attempting to subdivide string data type!
00:00:00 184MB ERROR | attempting to subdivide an invalid data type: STRING
00:00:00 184MB | [subdiv] /sopcreate1/mesh_0: regular subdivision interrupted
