Switching Hosters with Same Site/User Details #1174

If this is another question that has already been answered I apologize in advance. I did a keyword search on github and the wordpress.org forum and didn't get any hits, at least using the words I was. Does the ActivityPub (and I guess the Fediverse in general) care if I migrate to a new host using the same site and user information? I remember some warnings about using user names that were the same as the blog name (if I remember correctly) due to caching issues. If I create a new installation with a new hoster and then do a backup and restore from the old hoster to the new one, will I break anything? Should I remove the current installation from the fediverse by deactivating the plugin, wait for caching to clear and then do the install on the new hoster? Thank you! |

If you use the same domain and stick with WordPress, you can host it anywhere you want! As you said, simply move the files and db and that's it. The tricky migrations are if the domain or the software changes. |
