This Announcement is written just as pure information hook for all the work items open for azure account related change and if folks wonder how to all this fits together, or wonder if they had to re-login in coming release next. We wanted to inform you about an upcoming change in the login behaviour for the AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) VSCode extension. This change is designed to enhance to reflect new changes in azure account, security and streamline the login process for a better user experience.

What's Changing?

Detail are below with specific link to the Azure Account and Sign-In changes they recommended which triggered causal work at this repo.

Attention extension authors! The Azure Account extension is being replaced by VS Code's built-in Microsoft authentication extension. We've built a wrapper SDK for Azure authentication npm package. If you are creating a new extension that needs authentication to Azure, please use this instead of the Azure Account extension.

This triggered an change of events at our end and vscode side of things:

• Azure account login can get into a stuck state if you exit out of your request or
• authentication.getSession can return 'stuck' authentication requests or
• Allow recovery from cancelled Azure sign-in or
• Remove dependency on Azure Account extension
