When connecting anything atmos related, various problems happen.
Reminds me of a runtime error but I really don't know how this game works.
Here's what I've found:
Glossary:
Devices: anything that separates pipe nets, has functionality, valves, pumps, mixers, reactors, whatever.
Pipes: pipes, manifolds, heat pipes, layer adapters.
Reproduction:
pipe anchored to existing anchored device:
pipe fails to work becomes fake pipe, cant un-wrench or scan it, does not transfer gasses,
sound fails to play, wrench message fails to play, no finger prints on new fake pipe,
old loose pipe fails to get destroyed.
device/pipe anchored to existing anchored pipe:
fixes pipes under certain circumstances (see two down)
no other effects, works as normal
device anchored to existing device:
device is scannable and interactable, but does not flow gas (pumps wont pump, no gas inside nodes)
impossible to connect two devices unless you have a one pipe buffer,
pipe anchored to the north or east side of a existing anchored device, and also there is another connecting anchored pipe (to the north/east of the device or pipe being anchored).
pipe works normally but fails to make noise, fingerprints, message, delete loose pipe yeah
forgot to test devices or things other than straight pipes.
fixes previously broken pipes
There is no delay when removing pipes or devices.
tips to help with issue in game:
always keep pipe buffers between devices, connect devices after pipes, don't connect devices to other devices. This should help with issues with atmos, especially fixing exploded reactors. in case of fake pipes, break with fire axe, there is a way to fix if you connect it to an existing pipe net on its north or east side but its situational... (see above) :)
Round ID:
yes
Testmerges:
515 Fixes and Auxmos 2.5.2 #2703
^^ its probably this but not 100% sure
EDIT: fixed incorrect information.
EDIT: more fixes removed comments.
