After years of thinking about it, I finally found it: http://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy/reference/generated/numpy.linalg.pinv.html
...with (by the sound of it) τ value unfolding
Used in astrophysics: http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~ianc/python/_modules/analysis.html
Though we would need to contruct the MC for the error calculation ourselves.
That said, I just found: https://pythonhosted.org/uncertainties/numpy_guide.html uncertainties for SVD unfolding
