Once this ticket, CDLUC3/dmsp_backend_prototype#116, to add the external-api-access-token database table and API endpoint is completed, the frontend has to make the necessary updates to call that endpoint to save and delete tokens.

Currently, the frontend is just using localStorage for testing the functionality.
