For example

  • adobe
    • adobe X_______
    • adobe Y_______
    • adobe Z_______

a checkbox on the top level "adobe" would select the others

@karindalziel when you are back, can you explain what this issue means?

My recollection is that we discussed the possibility (aspirational) of hierarchically grouping attributes that shared the same string or initial word. This example, I believe, comes from the feature type field of the feature table. There was not a controlled vocabulary for this field so there is a lot of noise. For instance, there are the following five "adobe" permutations:

  • adobe plug
  • adobe ring
  • adobe-filled pit
  • adobe-lined pit
  • adobe, lithic concentration.

This sort of hierarchical display would allow us to group similar attributes so users wouldn't have to hunt and peck for all "adobe" related features. This feature would be nice and certainly helpful in a few particular locations, but is not required for launch.
