Content Structure - Chat Section

A common chat platform just like a forum or inbox with public participation.

I guess the chat section/box should be capable of basic text formatting, image upload and also code formatting!
More features that can be included but are only that necessary in early versions -
Mention people, reply to msgs, private msgs, different topic specific channels

Shouldn't slack be okay for this? (IRC etc would be too intimidating for newcommers.)

If someone is very interested to take this up, or on advanced level creating chatbots etc, then it could be updated.
Otherwise doesn't slack already have all features?

Slack is good, even best!
But the idea behind this part of the App is learning something up and implementing all that learned into an app used by some 100 in college!
