The definition on the front page Codepoint, n. the position of a character in an encoding system.
is not the official Unicode definition of codepoint, cf. http://www.unicode.org/glossary/#code_point: Any value in the Unicode codespace; that is, the range of integers from 0 to 10FFFF16. (See definition D10 in Section 3.4, Characters and Encoding.) Not all code points are assigned to encoded characters. See code point type.
Is your intention to handle all Unicode codepoints or just the Unicode encoded characters? Both are OK, but it's better to make it clear.
