It would be really nice if I could log measurement blocks to a CSV file, so I could plot the data later.

I'll propose adding a file chooser at the bottom of the measurement blocks pane. When you click "run", all the selected data items are logged to that file. Any thoughts/objections/ideas for doing it better?

Sounds good.
A (checkable) "Record" button would probably make sense, too.

Ah, a "record" button would be good.

I don't have time to work on this at the moment, but I'll do it the next time I need to work on my Subaru.

It's a great idea. I will try to do something about this topic

Is there any news about this. It would be a very nice feature!

Im looking for this feature as well. I installed this on a raspberry PI and plan to drive around while FreeSSM collects data. Then im going to look at the data offline and chart. If there was a way to record to file, and have that option on the command line so I could auto run it when the PI starts, this would be awesome.
