Issue type:

  • ➕ Feature request - Split Ability Totems in JEI inventory.

Short description:

The custom recipes are difficult to understand, and I couldn't find anyone distributing prebuilt files. Having to restart a world due to mod issues then losing all abilities is a nightmare. JEI can restore lost items, and commands can redo lost enchantments, but the only way to get abilities back is an extremely time consuming process of creating 3 Attack Steroids totems and combining them into a random ability totem over and over and over until you get your abilities back. Please just make it so every ability totem is listed separately in JEI.

If it's too difficult, perhaps adding in a full set of recipes? I know you have instructions, but I can't make sense of them. One ability totem, plus one block diamond (or anything easy with cheats but not broken for playing without them) makes the next totem on the list and it can go full circle? Just any way to actually create any of the abilities? Frequently changing mods and having to restart is a nightmare because of this mod. Losing everything every time. Either some of the abilities don't appear from the random combining 3, or I just have bad luck because I spent hours trying to get my set back, and never saw a single auto step, jump height, block or entity distance totem. I've even tried to find a recipe file made by anyone else for this mod.

Did these instructions not help? https://github.com/CyclopsMC/EverlastingAbilities/wiki/Creating-recipes-for-totems-and-bottles

There's also the /everlastingabilities command to give abilities.

Didn't know about the command, that's amazing. Thank you. But yeah, can't make sense of the instructions to make the recipes.

The command seems to add the abilities, but not visibly? Like, you can't them store them in a bottle (Which means there is no way to see what abilities you have without the commands). Is that intentional? Also, how would they mix with abilities gotten from totems?
