Enhancement Request: Sonos Advanced Hubitat App – Group Device Features

Requesting enhancements to the Sonos Group device functionality within the Hubitat app. These updates would significantly improve the integration and usability of grouped Sonos devices, allowing for a single template on the dashboard to control the group.

These enhancements are necessary to provide a more seamless and intuitive experience for users managing grouped Sonos devices. Currently, the lack of group-specific controls and Dashboard integration limits functionality and requires users to control grouped devices individually or through workarounds. Adding these features would bring parity to the Sonos Group device with individual Sonos devices and improve overall user efficiency and satisfaction.

Below are the specific features proposed for inclusion:

Requested Features for Sonos Group Device:

1. Group Volume Control

   • Group Volume Up: Incrementally increase the volume of all devices in the group.
   • Group Volume Down: Incrementally decrease the volume of all devices in the group.
   • Set Group Volume: Allow setting a specific volume level for the entire group.

2. Group Mute Control

   • Mute Group: Mute all devices in the group simultaneously.
   • Set Group Mute: Enable or disable mute for the group explicitly.
   • Unmute Group: Unmute all devices in the group.

3. Dashboard Template Alignment
   The Sonos Group device should use the Music Player template in the Hubitat Dashboard. This would ensure consistency and provide the following capabilities:

   • Volume control, including sliders and buttons for "Volume Up" and "Volume Down."
   • Mute functionality, with toggle options for "Mute On" and "Mute Off."
   • Display of album art, artist, and currently playing song for the grouped devices.

All existing features and functionality of the Sonos Group device should remain unchanged and continue to work as they currently do.
