The problem you're addressing (if any)

Disabling USB charging for connected devices could be useful to avoid charging devices when not needed or to save the laptop battery.

Describe the solution you'd like

Different options could be added:

  • always disable (to avoid charging devices when not needed)
  • disable when battery is used (to save the laptop battery)
  • always enable

Where is the value to a user, and who might that user be?

This could save the laptop battery or connected devices battery for the laptop I am using (NovaCustom NV41 Series) and maybe other laptops using Dasharo / coreboot.

Describe alternatives you've considered

An enable / disable option while an operating system is running would be nice but I don't know if it is possible.
The option in the BIOS could still be useful to have a default configuration.
