Complete history of conversations sometimes re-sent on login

Very often, when I login, Yahoo sends me all the history of my active conversation(s), even thought it has done that numerous times before. It bloats my log files with hundreds of KB each time. An option to ignore the messages that were already received (by timestamp?) would be appreciated.

Please take a look at it. It now happens on every login, and the log space is growing exponentially due to duplicated unneeded data.
