Hi,

i wanted to create a simple box with finger-joints at every edge.
On the one edge it works, on the other not.

I get the following error message:
"Finger joints could not be completed. Try selecting overlapping bodies and double-check the dimensions".

Here is what I did:

  1. Simple sketch with layout, including wall width.
  2. Extruded 4 seperate walls.
  3. Extruded floor, and ceiling (with an offset plane).

Placing Finger joints between floor an wall works. Between 2 walls not.

I tried to place an sketch, to mark the joint from it, but it does not work.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong.

Best regards.
Benjamin

@heidenrb Hi, hopefully you are selecting wrong direction of joint population.

It's hard to tell from just a screenshot. It could also be that the size of the part is too small to accommodate the size of fingers you are requesting. In your settings, you are asking for fingers and notches of equal size, both with a minimal size of 20mm, so if the part is not at least 40mm, there is not enough room to place them (or 60mm, I can't remember off the top of my head if a single finger and notch is accepted). If that's not it, please attach a file where this fails and describe exactly what parts you are selecting in which order to reproduce the problem.
