Classic Mahjong rules?

I don't know if this is beyond the scope of OpenRiichi, but given the scarcity of such project I try anyway. It would be nice being able to play with the Chinese rules as classic Mahjong rather than Japanese. Is it going to happen anytime?

It's possible. I had in mind for this to be adaptable for other mahjong variations from the beginning, but it would require quite a lot of work nonetheless.
However, there are enough things to do for me on the Riichi part alone, so that I wouldn't be able to invest the time in other variations. What would need to happen is for someone to come along and implement it (which isn't likely to happen anytime soon).
