Affected app version

1.0.0

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 14

Affected device model

OnePlus 9 Pro

How did you install the app?

GitHub releases

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. In a file management app, create a new directory and add to it files: .nomedia and any music file.
  2. Open the file from the file management app in Music Player.

Expected behavior

The app should play the file.

Actual behavior

The app either:

  • shows a blank playback screen like there would be no metadata and doesn't play anything
  • plays another file from the device (from scannable directory)

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Additional information

The issue was originally shown in #111, but I decided to create a more generic bug report.

Also, the app behaves the same in a very niche scenario:

  1. Install the app, but don't run it (or run, but don't grant the media permission).
  2. From a file management app, open a music file (from any directory) in Music Player.
