Hello Benny and GeSHi contributors 🌟

I just want to say that I am thankful for your work on GeSHi. It's been ~15 years or so. I have followed development rather closely because I have been building and maintaining a wordpress syntax highlightling plugin since 2010 (see here and here and screenshot) based on GeSHi. I have always understood that this is walking on the shoulders of a giant, your wonderful piece of software. A few years ago I was so happy that you made the push towards PHP 7. I have also seen that there were ideas for a 1.1 revamp based on lessons learned; but well -- it's simply a huge amount of work to prepare a major release for an established piece of software.

I see that there's quite a bit of negativity and demanding attitude on this issue tracker (not too much of a surprise). Sorry to see that.

I also see that every now and then you invest a bit of energy to get some fixes out the door; just like recently you pushed a fix for Golang. Today -- after looking at the recently opened tickets -- I thought I really want to leave a few positive words here, to show some gratitude. Me, too, hopes for future maintenance of this project. Yes. But that's not how it works. I totally understand that personal reasons often get in the way. Maybe the community can step up here? Anyway, that's not really my point. Just THANK YOU! Jan-Philip
