  • Look at background of pulse oximeter
  • start off with article already posted by tarek on zotero
  • assess how much more background reading is necessary before looking specifically at testing
  • Develop search terms for pulse oximeter testing
  • pulse oximeter + testing
  • pulse oximetry + safety standards
  • standardized testing + pulse oximetry
  • how to test a pulse oximeter
  • testing protocol + pulse oximeter
  • quality + pulse oximeter
  • Pulse oximeter comparative studies
  • For every search term, look through the abstracts of all the articles and save the relevant ones for a closer look
  • maybe aim for a range of article number to read a day and if the articles are longer/shorter I'll end up at the lower/upper limit of the range?
  • Read through the articles that were retrieved and eliminate ones that are irrelevant (do it a second time keeping the other articles in mind)
  • Post each article on zotero with a quick overview of what they're discussing
  • Look through the references used by the articles
  • Repeat steps 3 to 6 using Tarek's database for articles that are not found through UofT
  • Compare the articles that are relevant to see how they differ/are the same in their testing protocol
