Unable to see certain files in the mount-point

I created an object at <bucket_name>/dirName/fileName.txt but can't see in the GCSFuse mounted directory.

$ls <mount_point>/dirName/fileName
ls: cannot access '<mount_point>/dirName/fileName':  No such file or directory"

Note: the file was not created using the GCSFuse mount.

GCSFuse invocation:
gcsfuse <bucket_name> <mount_point>

It worked after I passed --implicit-dirs flag. Invocation:
gcsfuse --implicit-dirs <bucket_name> <mount_point>
