STR

  • Install an app that can request unrestricted battery usage (e.g. NeoStumbler from Accrescent)
  • Set this app to restricted
  • Open the app and let it request unrestricted (NeoStumbler: Settings > Troubleshoot)
  • Grant unrestricted
  • Open Appinfo/Battery, see background usage is allowed w/o optimized or unrestricted being selected

There are 3 modes: Optimized, Restricted and Unrestricted. Don't really understand this. There is no Unrestricted + Restricted.

Following this STR (set restricted in appinfo, then grant unrestricted from pop-up) the UI does show it as
