The table below gives an overview of the coordinate reference systems approved for use in INSPIRE. It contains the HTTP URI identifier for the CRS, a short description and the basis for its inclusion into the table. This table is a temporary solution for the need of one single updated and authoritative overview of approved CRSs in INSPIRE, pending the register of CRSs that will be established when Commission Regulation (EU) No 1089/2010 is amended, see also the documents for the 16th meeting of the INSPIRE Committee.
More information about those CRSs that are part of the EPSG Geodetic Parameter Dataset can be found in the EPSG registry.

The INSPIRE requirements regarding the coordinate reference systems (Annex II, 1.3. Coordinate reference Systems) are based on report Map Projections for Europe, publication M-3, Resolutions of the IHO and standards describing the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA). The INSPIRE Data Specification on Coordinate Reference Systems specifies what coordinate reference system identifiers shall be used (the HTTP URIs provided by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), where relevant).
