I make sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - which I could contribute my information to.
I understand that issues with limited impact, such as those occurring on specific devices or under specific network conditions, will not be fixed.
I am able to reproduce the bug with the latest version given here: CLICK THIS LINK.
I have attached the error report in the issue.
Describe the bug
(Youtube) The area between the video and the comments (the one that contains actions like 'Add To,' 'Background,' 'Pop Up,' etc.) is scrollable, so one can accidentally scroll it all the way up while scrolling through the comments. When it is scrolled up too much, it goes beyond the screen, making it impossible to scroll it back down. As a result, all the comments jump up, and the space previously occupied by the video and the buttons moves to the bottom of the comments page, leaving it blank. This leads to a half-screen of comments and a huge empty space underneath with no possibility to scroll the video back to its place.
Frequency
Every single Youtube video. This is a design bug, not an actual video bug.
Steps to reproduce the bug
Open any Youtube video.
Tap and hold the area between the video and the comments (the area that contains the 'Add to,' 'Background,' 'Popup,' etc. settings).
Now scroll that area up. The area and the video will move up as well.
If you scroll it too far up, the video and the buttons will disappear, causing the comments to move all the way up, with the actual video area appearing underneath the comments as an empty space.
I believe there is a simple fix for this - make the whole area (the area that contains the 'Add to,' 'Background,' 'Popup,' etc. settings) non-scrollable, so only the comments section can be scrolled.
Device (e.g. Pixel 9 Pro)
Pixel 8 Pro, GrapheneOS
Error report
Its a design bug so no crash or error log
