latest cardano-node, cardano-db-sync

The older version probably never crashed except for SQL initial problems around migrations. The new version crashes regularly. I'm not sure that's the intention.

For example, there are two situations:

  1. Reason code: Canceled on identification as a pivot, with conflict out to old committed transaction 2983475709.", sqlErrorHint = "The transaction might succeed if retried."
  2. when is relay stopped/restarted - older versions waiting, this new version stops

By latest, you mean cardano-node 9.1.0 and cardano-db-sync 13.4.0.0? Could you post some logs here as well?
