Is the new benchmark computational or experimental?

  • [] Computational
  • Experimental

Is this a MultiTest or a normal Test?

MultiTest

Cases:

  • Co-60 Skyshine
  • Co-60 Air Over Ground
  • Co-60 Through Air
  • Co-60 Through Teflon
  • Sm Kα Through Air
  • Sm Kα Through Teflon

Give a concise description of the benchmark

The cases in the last subset of the radiation shielding validation suite are based on experimental measurements of
photon dose rates. There are currently two cases used with MCNP6. The Skyshine test case is based on a 1980 measurement
of airscattered photon radiation far from the source. The Kerma test case models one of the Hupmobile thermoluminescent
dosimeter (TLD) experiments performed at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory between 1967 and 1969, specifically the
60Co-through-Air measurement.
