Hi,

thank you so much for repackaging Mendeley Desktop for 22.04. Unfortunately there is an issue which makes the repackaged up difficult to run.

Expected behavior:

After the application is closed, the process should terminate

Current behavior:

After the application is closed, the process keeps running endlessly and is occupying 100% of one CPU. This is hidden from the user and has occasionally resulted into my battery draining out, e.g. while I am on the move.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. This is a known issue and I've also noticed it on my own machine. I suspected that the problem is due to compatibility issues between the Qt library in the Mendeley package and Ubuntu 22.04.

However, as Mendeley Desktop is a proprietary software, we cannot accurately know what's happening internally. I've graduated and started working, which has made my schedule extremely tight, leaving me with inadequate time to address this issue.

I will try to find time in the future to attempt to recompile the Qt library and integrate it into the Mendeley package. Until this issue is resolved, you can manually kill the Mendeley Desktop process using commands like pkill.

Thanks!
