Hi.
I read about your tool on the weekly OSM post and tried it for a local bus line.
I can tell you, it was a pain since the times oscillate so much.

However there are some questions and issues:

  • What departure time do I take to set the range? The first stops (this is what I did)?
  • The schedule makes a difference if the day after Sunday is being followed by a public holiday for scheduled departures on the night from Sunday to Monday. Would a special PH schedule for Monday morning be OK?
  • All departures depend additionally on school holidays. How should I incorporate this? I did it for the days that do not have a school holiday.
  • After I've finished, I couldn't find the changes made on OSM. Is this live?

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your questions:

  • Taking first stop for setting a time range seems reasonable (the wiki documentation isn't clear on that aspect)
  • The tool will for sure not handle this case. However, the interval:conditional key syntax is using the opening_hours format. So if you find a way to express this according to opening_hours scheme, that will fit in the tag
  • School holidays might be a more common case, it is not supported yet but could be at some point (what do you think @nlehuby ?)
  • Changes should appear to OSM, are you sure there wasn't any error or message when trying to send changes ?

Regards.

Thank you.

There was an error message when I tried to post it for the first time (it would be nice if it could be more specific). I then switched all departures around midnight to the appropriate day as I thought it might be it and send it out again. It did not return an error.

Yes, Busy Hours should be able to handle school holidays 👍
Can you please create a dedicated issue so that we can discuss the simplest and most ergonomic way to add this feature ?

Changes should appear to OSM

What url did you use and did you log in successfully before trying to add hours ?

This is the line I've been working on: https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/1758849#map=14/50.1418/8.7373
I'm not sure if the changes would appear there but I don't know where to look else.
And yes, I was logged in.
