Badges + Levels (XP)

We need to clarify how badges work / are awarded. I'm thinking site admins can provide challenges with badges that can then be awarded by the challenge authors. Perhaps this should be different for tutorials in which case submitting a project should automatically grant one the badges? This edge case isn't one I particularly like because it requires some hard coding, incentivizes creating a blank project, and badge farming (or whatever). Maybe we shouldn't give any rewards for completing tutorials, other than knowledge 😄.

As discussed during meeting, we should have a reward system for using the platform:

• XP system (points from badges) with tutorials / challenges
  • Levels -- no real reward yet
• Badge for creating first project
• Badges provided for challenge authors to distribute
