At the moment the som.codes are initialised with random rows from the input data. In case one wants to have a more regular gridding intially, something like this works
som =initSOM(train,nx,ny)
som.codes[:,:] = som.grid
However, wouldn't it be nice to have an optional argument in initSOM, for regularly spaced codes given min,max of the dataset?
