Describe the bug
Updating H5P content types is partly not possible.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: macOS
  • Lumi 0.9.4

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Updating gives an error, e.g. for the documentation tool:

The system was unable to install the H5P.DocumentExportPage-1.5 component from the package, it requires a newer version of the H5P plugin. This site is currently running version 1.24, whereas the required version is 1.27 or higher. You should consider upgrading and then try again.

Expected behavior
The content type should be updated.

A lot of new features in 1.27.. Would be nice to see them in Lumi!

Is Lumi still being actively maintained?

Last issue was closed on Jan 21, 2024.. Does not look promising. Lumi is a fantastic tool. So really hope the developers only have a small break..

Hey! The main problem is my lack of time: I am currently also working as a teacher while maintaining https://Lumi.education as well.

But it looks like I found some funding to update the Desktop Editor and I hope to get working on it soon.

Best,
JP

That's so great to hear. Maybe I can contribute some small funds as well. How do I do that?

Best from another (very grateful for Lumi) teacher

@JPSchellenberg: Any update on the issue? I'm planning on doing an internal school workshop on H5P in February and would love to use Lumi, with all available H5P content types. :)

This issue is effectively killing Lumi.

I really don't understand. There's money to be made from both cloud licensing and desktop software. However, when development halts for an entire year, even with donations still coming in, and no one responds, even on the commercial side of the project, it destroys confidence.

I am working on it and hope to release the next version within the next 2 weeks.
I am well aware of the issue, but the money made from donations and the cloud covers the expenses but I can not afford to quit my job. I am working on funding so I can invest more time, but until then things move very slow :(

And I read most of the incoming requests, but I have to allocate my time wisely. I receive so many emails, comments, etc that if I tried to answer them all everything would come to a complete stop. Right now most of my time is invested in finding a long term funding, as the work from cloud rises faster than the money I make from it. And I can work only so many hours a week.
