Mitfahr|DE|zentrale promotes development of a rideshare data exchange standard. GTFS-flex might become such a standard, if common features of ridematching providers are supported. I think we could convince one or two german providers to produce a GTFS-flex stream. |
This is an interesting idea to use GTFS-flex as a way of modeling planned rideshare trips, as they often have a "fixed route" with a tolerance for deviation. It may also be useful to look at the rideshare section of this data formats roundup: http://trilliumtransit.com/2016/07/06/data-formats-roundup/ SF MTC's work with 3rd part rideshare apps is also interesting.
