For now I'm going to try and collect links here of known flex service that we can potentially use as sample producers of GTFS-flex:

Mitfahr|DE|zentrale promotes development of a rideshare data exchange standard. GTFS-flex might become such a standard, if common features of ridematching providers are supported. I think we could convince one or two german providers to produce a GTFS-flex stream.

This is an interesting idea to use GTFS-flex as a way of modeling planned rideshare trips, as they often have a "fixed route" with a tolerance for deviation.

It may also be useful to look at the rideshare section of this data formats roundup: http://trilliumtransit.com/2016/07/06/data-formats-roundup/

SF MTC's work with 3rd part rideshare apps is also interesting.

Can we coordinate? email me at [email protected].

Stadtnavi Herrenberg uses GTFS-Flex to let OTP compute routes including local on-demand buses (but doesn't follow the spec entirely); We built generate-herrenberg-gtfs-flex to patch the GTFS dataset and add flex trips.
