Museum: External: 03/14 Gopher Protocol/Smallnet Documentary #375
Comments
Fantastic! It's for this Friday. Some of the things I'm focused on is making sure the interview has a storytelling narrative. I want a segment to be focused on the history and nostalgia of it all, to be sure I actually ask questions that unveil new information for the history books, but also uncovering and explaining the smallnet movement which is reviving gopher and inspiring protocols like gemini. I want to give him a "State of," ask him about his projects, and where he sees the movement and if he's interested in getting involved, having a space in gopherspace again, etc. I want to make sure to show the state of with all kinds of projects/software/gopherholes/etc. I'll try to share a script soon. |
I could really use people to take b roll of using the gopher protocol on various old computers at The MADE (or even at home). Moody and artsy high quality footage would rule. Could even be on a new computer. Edit: it might also be good to have a person on backup, who is also recording, and who can take over if I go missing/my connection dies/etc. A second recording would be great. The interviews will be conducted via zoom I think. |
i found two people to help with translation/voice overs, video. i'm going ot cut myself out of the video (it'll mostly be prompts and voice overs anyway) i'm closing in on being done with the script nother person from the original gopher rfc agreed to an interview. i think this is shaping into a documentary |

Schedule an interview with creator of the Gopher protocol to capture important historical knowledge.
