Running containers on Mac with M1 or M2 chips

We've recently become aware of a potential issue running our Docker containers on a newer Mac that has either the M1 or M2 chips. The information we've received is that Docker containers that were built using x86 hardware will not work on newer Macs that have M1 or M2 chips. We attempted to verify this issue but were unable to confirm the problem due to limited resources. But we wanted to alert the user community to this potential issue. Our limited advice to circumvent the problem would be to try to build the containers from scratch.
