Desperation and innovation are fun bedfellows... this is my attempt at describing the data muxer in a single slide without the time to create a figure with python and actually using the data muxer

Nice, simple diagram.

Suggestions to accompany the graphic:

“(Re-)Aligns data acquired asynchronously, or data acquired with unequal sampling periods”…?

or, use “aperiodic”, above, to be slightly less wordy?

I agree. Simplicity is good thing here. We should add this to the muxer docs page.
