Fetchr 5.0.1
While I'm working on a 1.19 version, this is a release to improve performance and address some configuration issues for server administrators.
Changelog
- Added option to force adventure mode in the lobby without also restricting game controls to admins
- On servers, adventure mode in the lobby is now Default
- Performance improvements
- Added French and Portuguese (BR) community translations
- Fixed bubble columns not getting replaced with dirt below spawn
Installation
If you need help, please follow the instructions on Planet Minecraft or Curseforge
Fetchr 5.0.1 Release Candidate 1
This is the first and hopefully only Release Candidate for Fetchr 5.0.1.
If no further issues are found with this version, there will be a release early next week without any further changes.
Changelog
- Fixed bubble columns not getting replaced with dirt below spawn
- Fixed player position stopping to update under some circumstances
- Fixed shadow of colored text
- Prevent players from skipping the resource pack check manually by getting teleported (This would mean the player still doesn't join games and is not considered setup properly before)
- Minor performance improvements
Installation
The instructions from the general release page still apply.
Additionally, for this Release Candidate, there is a multiversion
download. This is useful for servers allowing 1.19 clients. With the default datapack and resourcepack, HUD spacing and shadows will be messed up. The multiversion download fixes this.
For servers, please use this updated server.properties file instead, or for a multiversion server find the server-multiversion.properties
attached below.
Fetchr 5.0.1 Pre-Release 2
The second pre-release for 5.0.1
Changelog
- Fixed a bug that meant card generation was broken after re-joining
- Fixed a bug that broke the card display with multiple teams
- More performance optimizations
Installation
The instructions from the general release page still apply.
For servers, please use this updated server.properties file instead.

Fetchr - Bingo 5.0
Fetchr - Bingo v5
Fetchr, also known as Bingo 5.0, is a custom gamemode in which you collect Minecraft items in a survival Minecraft world. You will be presented with a 5x5 Bingo board with each slot depicting a Minecraft item.
In the game lobby, this looks like this:
General Information
Fetchr or Minecraft Bingo in general is quite a simple concept as it builds on top of survival gameplay. You will start with an empty inventory at a random, and unknown spawn point within the world. You will need to punch trees, get a crafting table and basic tools, just like regular survival.
Your goal is to get certain items of the Bingo board, depending on the goal you're going for. Fetchr supports a multitude of goals, for example a regular 5-in-a-row Bingo, or a full card run.
Furthermore, Fetchr features a completely customizable HUD which shows a bunch of information to the player, such as a Bingo card display showing the progress of all teams in real time. Fetchr also features enhancements to world generation to allow for a more fast-paced game, by for example reducing the sizes of biomes, increasing cave and dungeon frequency and more.
For more detailed information, keep reading after the installation section.
Download and Installation
This map is made for Minecraft Java Version 1.16.5. No other version will work.
Spigot and Paper are not supported. I recommend FabricMC with Lithium and Phosphor for the best performance. Vanilla works as well.
Singleplayer
- Download the file called
Fetchr-5.0.zip
. - Extract/unzip it to your Minecraft saves directory.
- When you start Minecraft, you should now find the Fetchr map right at the top of your worlds. Just open the map now. You do not need anything else.
Multiplayer
- Download the attached release file.
- Extract/unzip it in the same directory as your
server.jar
file is located. - Make sure your
server.properties
file is setup properly, as shown here. - If you already have a customized
server.properties
file, make sure to copy all the settings present in the linked file over. Otherwise, just replace the entire file with the content shown. - Just start your server now like you usually would.
- To prevent players from breaking blocks in the lobby or interacting with game controls, you can activate the strict mode using the red crimson sign.
Project Pages
Goals
All goals are always detected. For instance, when going for a blackout, Bingo will be announced when you fullfill the requirement, but you can just keep playing.
Bingo
For getting Bingo you need to obtain all 5 items in any of the rows, columns, or diagonals.
Blackout
A blackout requires getting all 25 items on the board.
20 No Bingo
In a 20 no Bingo, you get 20 items while carefully avoiding obtaining a Bingo. This is the maximum number of items that can be obtained without getting Bingo.
Multi Bingo
For multi-Bingo, you get multiple Bingos at once. That means, obtaining items of intersecting rows, columns or diagonals, while getting the item at the intersection last. It is possible to obtain a double Bingo, triple Bingo, and quadruple Bingo.
Detailed Feature Overview
Custum HUD
While in-game you will have a bunch of custom HUD elements around your hotbar. This utilizes a custom font and does not require any mods.
The HUD can be customized in the lobby and elements can be moved however you prefer them to be layed out, or individual components can be removed.
Bingo Card
The Bingo card shows all items of the current game and a summary of which team obtained which item so far. Items obtained by your own team appear a little bit darker. Depending on the amount of teams, this display will be adjusted to fit all teams.
From the lobby, 10 unique team colors are available.
Timer
There is a timer that counts up in real time. This allows you to keep track of your time without any third party software. There is no time limit imposed by the map, but you can of course set your own goal. The timer icon also represents a functional Minecraft clock, showing the time within the current day.
Player position
There is a player position visible which shows the coordinates relative to the spawn point. The coordinates on your F3 screen will be extremely high and hard to parse / communicate, due to the random spawn point. The icon also functions as a regular compass and can be changed to appear like the Minecraft compass icon via the preference settings in the lobby.
Below the regular coordinates, there is by default a chunk coordinate display. This is useful during certain times. For example when following a treasure map, the treasure will always be located at chunk coordinates 9 9, or to keep track of chunk borders if you want to use the Lapis Trick
And below that, there is a separated Y coordinate display, which is useful when digging down without requiring F3.
Fetchr Seed
Finally, there is a display for the Fetchr seed. Similar to a Minecraft world, where the same seed will generate the same world, the same Fetchr seed will generate the same Bingo board and the same spawn point. When generating a card, you can choose to manually set a seed instead of using a random one.
Custom Worldgen
Fetchr uses custom worldgen to make certain items more reliable in a run.
Tiny Biomes
Biome sizes are decreased to make finding biome-specific items more fun and reliable.
More dungeons
The classic Minecraft spawner room structure generates at a siginifcantly increased rate compared to normal Minecraft. Specifically, it has been increased by a factor of 12.5. This makes it easier to find dungeons when exploring caves and obtain items that way,
Caves
Cave frequency has been slightly increased and flooded caves in ocean biomes have been replaced by regular, unflooded caves.
No Mineshafts
For balancing reasons, mineshafts are disabled in Fetchr. They turned out to give too overpowered by providing quick access to a lot of chests. To make up for this, cave frequency in badland biomes has been bumped more significantly compared to other biomes.
No Ites
All stone variants that end in -ite have been disabled from generating. This includes diorite, andesite and granite. This was done as a QOL change to reduce inventory clutter and make digging for stone consistent.
Ambient lighting
There is a constant lighting factor in the overworld, similarly to the vanilla Nether. This allows seeing in caves clearly without torches.
Game Rule changes
- Weather is always sunny
- Phantoms, wandering traders and patrol spawns (which all work on a world-global timer) are disabled

Changelog
- Below the Bingo spawn point there is now a dirt block pillar instead of only a single dirt block, in case the spawnpoint is not suitable otherwise
- Optimization: Reduced network traffic within the Bingo Lobby. (#130)
- Bug Fixes
Lobby Optimization
Signs are frequently replaced with air and then with the sign again. This is mostly done to work around MC-162441 and prevent players from seeing translation keys on signs caused by the resourcepack loading late.
In previous versions, this was done every game tick for all signs. This caused a lot of network traffic on servers, since the data of all signs was send to all clients. This caused bad ping for some servers in the lobby specifically.
In this version, this has been reduced to only once per second and only for signs close to players.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed You can spawn inside a ravine or a lava/water lake (#89)
- Made sure all players are properly on ground before initializing the countdown sequence
- Fixed Switching to spectator mode before game start may cause the spawn point to be set in the air (#127)
- Fixed The pre-gen bar keeps showing when generating a new card ( #126)
- Fixed When spawning in, the player receives damage (#132)
- Fixed When rejoining, the coordinate display uses global coordinates until the component is updated again (#131)

Minecraft Bingo 5.0 - Pre-Release 4
This is the fourth pre-release. This pre-release aims to further enhance the custom HUD and fixes a critical bug causing some mobs to have no AI.
Extensive testing in both multiplayer and single player would be appreciated.

Changelog
- Added new coordinate direction icon
- Added an option to hide the Bingo seed until the run is completed (#83)
- Improved fireworks effect
- Removed NOPEname from the credits room
- Added UnlucksMcGee to the credits room
- Made card generation sound play at 100% instead of 50%, to make it more in line with other Bingo FX sounds
New coordinate icon
The icon displayed next to the player coordinates now uses a textual "compass", with letter abbreviations for cardinal directions by default.
The Minecraft compass item icon from previous versions can still be enabled using custom hud settings
Option to hide seed
As is common practice in speedrunning, there might be a case for a rule of not letting the player know the Bingo Seed until run completion.
To facilitate this, there is now an HUD option to hide the seed until the run is completed
Specifically this means, after collecting all 25 items, or after returning to the lobby.
Note that to properly hide your spawn location, you also should be careful about showing F3, as this will reveal your actual location in the world as well. This can be prevented to be triggered by accident by setting Options -> Chat Settings -> Reduced Debug Info to "ON".
Additionally, the seed is now hidden the same way before generating the first Bingo card, instead of showing the seed icon.
Better fireworks effect
When completing a goal, more fireworks spawn now and their spawning is spread over multiple ticks.

Minecraft Bingo 5.0 - Pre-Release 3
This is the third pre-release. This pre-release adds a new hud component and improves the bingo in-game menu, as well as providing some performance improvements.
Extensive testing in both multiplayer and single player would be appreciated.
Download and installation
This map is made for Minecraft Version 1.16.5. No other version will work
Spigot and Paper are not supported. I recommend FabricMC with Lithium and Phosphor for the best performance. Vanilla works as well.
Singleplayer
- Find the file called
Bingo-5.0-pre3.zip
in assets down below and download it. - Extract/unzip it to your Minecraft saves directory.
- When you start Minecraft, you should now find the Bingo map right at the top of your worlds. Just open the map now. You do not need anything else.
Multiplayer
- Find the file called
Bingo-5.0-pre3.zip
in assets down below and download it. - Extract/unzip it in the same directory as your server.jar file is located.
- Find the file called
server.properties
from the assets section below and download it. You can also view it here. - If you already have a customized server.properties file, make sure to copy all the settings present in the downloaded file over. Otherwise, just copy the file in the same directory as your server.jar, replacing it if it is already present.
- Just start your server now like you usually would.
Changelog
- All seeds are shuffled once again, hopefully the last time in this development cycle for real now
- Implemented new bingo menu (#71) (Thanks to @UnlucksMcGee, #122)
- Added a new hud component for chunk coordinates (#39)
- Customized card generation sound and moved custom sound events to a separate slider
- Spawn points are now chunk-aligned: You always spawn on chunk coordinate 0 0 now. The spacing of spawn points is still roughly the same.
- Switched RNG to a simple LCG
- Optimized card generation
- Optimized terrain pre-generation
Bingo Menu
There is a new in-game menu now for selecting options like going back to the lobby or switching to spectator mode.
-
On "Loading Terrain...", as well as hinting to the player about clicking the icon.
-
On each item get (note the hover text when the mouse is over it)
-
When you complete a goal, it just prints out the current menu options
Chunk coordinate display
A new HUD component for displaying chunk coordinates has been added, which can also be modified to only show chunk coordinates when holding a treasure map.
Or with the setting changed while holding a treasure map it is shown instead of regular coordinates:
The spawn point is now chunk-aligned as well and you always spawn on chunk coordinate 0 0. The spacing of possible spawn points is still the same overall.
Sound changes
There is a new slider for Bingo FX sounds now.
Additionally, the card generation sound changed. Previously, the vanilla sound for filling an item frame would play 25 times over each other, as items are being placed in the item frames for the lobby card.
Those sounds have been deactivated now and instead a single sound plays, which is also part of the new sound slider.
This slider replaces what is called "Voice/Speech" by default.
Optimizations
Card generation is now a little bit faster, which may be noticeable if you are generating a lot of cards in consecutive ticks for some reason
More noticeably, terrain pre-generation is now a lot faster. Chunks are no longer immediately unloaded after generating them, which means that chunks that are loaded for generating next to them generate a lot faster.
On my machine the time terrain pre-generation takes is reduced down by ~35% compared to pre2, however this figure may vary between systems.
Fixes:
- Fixed a bug that meant that during card generation inconsistencies could happen with the way items were picked
- Fixed "Switch to spectator mode" being clickable in the lobby (#124)
