Context: How and what we do with notifications will continue to expand, getting more complex as it goes.

Therefore: How do we update the user journeys and interactions to ensure that additional complexity is easy to use.

Things that we know will change:

More types of notifications
Emailing users about all ‘unread’ notifications
Changing which notifications the user wants to recieve
Allowing users the option to receive email notifications at different frequencies (thus unsubscribing needs reviewing)

Things that we know will change later:

All communication to users, goes through the notification service
There will be notifications about messages
There will be notifications about moderation decisions
