Any news on this? Seeing as how it's March, and this was added in January there should be at least some work done on this... I'm thinking about keeping my OSVR HDK 1.4 and just getting the touch controllers instead of buying an Oculus Rift (And the touch controllers) or an HTC Vive.
As we have yet to see what LG is up to with their partnership with Valve in making yet another SteamVR headset, I think that the OSVR is the best of them all so far (at least when it comes to software compatibility). Please don't leave this idea to rot, as it would be a game changer for me and many others.
Hey @godbyk and @TheModdersDen I've been looking into trying to track new objects using constellation using this https://github.com/OSVR/OSVR-Core/blob/video-developer-info/plugins/videobasedtracker/doc/Developing.md Through my research I've been looking into how touch controllers are tracked and it makes me wonder if it's possible to track the touch controllers without the rift headset like TheModdersDen was talking about. The touch controllers are connected through bluetooth to the Rift HMD which I think is necessary for controlling the blinking pattern on the touch controllers which the sensors pick up, unless I'm missing something about how OSVR tracks the LEDs.
