Future Use cases:

  • Fin the database or repository that fits my need. For example, I have a dataset and I want to know
is the best option for my needs. For example which of the ProteomeXchange partners is the most
    appropriate for my needs.
    • using different keywords for description.
    • different instruments.
    • localisation of the repository.
  • I have a list of publication Ids and I want to know the number datasets that has been publish related with those publications (Researcher) and (Funder agencies)
    • If the user provides a set of PubMed ids search for them.
  • Ranking and organising Data:
    • the metadata provided by the repository and for the specific datasets.
    • Visualisation and ranking of results may require new tools and algorithms.
  • Social Media System
    • A user Access using Google, ORCI or create account.
    • Ranking datasets using basic like and dislike.
    • Commenting the datasets.
    • Create a filter for new dataset, it would be interesting for some users to create a filter to receive
message about new datasets. The user should be able to have more than one filters and also
      update the filters.
  • Clustering the data by Keywords, Molecular entities, etc.

@leprevost @khaug @baimingze @ALL please feel free to add you comments in this issue. We would like to start the discussion for future developments and use cases in OmicsDI. We would do prioritization after everyone annotate their use cases.

I was thinking of couple of metabolomics related use cases.

could this included a use-case for looking up different type of datasets (e.g metabolomics, proteomics, etc) submitted to different repositories but belong to the same study/experiment?
