short ids problem

We need to trim the leading zeros or so

The problem here is with the search index containing wrong entries (i.e.
something that we indexed along time ago but was never deleted). Right now
there's no real way of finding them other that deleting the entire index
and re-indexing everything (I might do that at some point).
