A 2.5-hr time slot to focus on things we let might let slide when we're busy focusing on project-level work. Open to anyone.

Maybe treat it like coworking, where each person says what they want to tidy.

Things we can tidy

  • delete repos used for testing; consider archiving inactive repos like 2023-agu-planning
  • triage issues: close things that are resolved; add labels
  • create reusable alt text resources: have one location for images we use > twice; keep images and alt text in same place; gather existing alt txt and write for others
    • logos, flywheel, editorial image, cloud cookbook
  • reflect on things in your workflows that feel clunky; choose one and take first step
  • triage/ archive Slack channels - past champions cohorts, inactive channels

For October, we will focus on Agenda and Approach Guide updates, following first NMFS Champions Cohort Calls. Gathering ideas:

Call 1 agenda

  • Update Welcome - Mindset; see Cohort C - @jules32
  • review timing and update in kyber?

Series

  • add MML slides to Champions Series as “core” slides - @stefaniebutland
  • emphasize that these open science mindsets apply no matter what your work is (does not have to be data-intensive or science; they apply to contracts and budgets teams too!) -@jules32

kyber - other

Zoom

  • Stef + Julie can't open meetings at the same time - what!?
  • admin followup from call 1
  • check polling

To discuss/action

  • cross-org Mentors seaside chats
