Hide/move CFW items in VSH #455
Comments
Delete XMBCTRL.PRX in ARK_1234. |
This does absolutely nothing on a permanent install of ARK-4. |
Delete it from flash0 instead. Full flash install is also kinda designed for people who want all the XMB stuff to persist and whatnot, alongside VSHMenu and recovery, when MS isn't inserted. |
I'm sure this will work, and thank you for the advice, but I believe that I shouldn't have to do that. |
The Category Lite plugin adds its options into the Systems category in the Settings tab. Surely, ARK-4 can do this as well, if a dedicated category isn't an option? |
Hear hear! All the wonky PSN icons added on the main XMB are tacky 🫣 I believe if you set your VSH region to Russia in the Advanced VSH Menu, the Extras disappear. Which is much easier. (Though obviously completely removes the CFW menu items...I agree it'd be best to mimic what Categories Lite does and move them to a Settings submenu.) |
Just delete XMBCTRL.PRX from ARK_01234, there's really not more to it. |

Setting XMB Region to Russia (get rid of "Extras") is more "user-friendly". That's why I suggested it--to try to help him out.
Doesn't that compltely remove all the ARK CFW menu options? What if you still want them? (But just not in the Extras menu?) That's where his suggestion to move them (à la Categories Lite) comes in. It's not important but just a Feature Request in case we still want access to those CFW menu items but don't want to clutter our main XMB with double PSN icons |
If you get rid of the extras categories then CFW stuff will be in the Game section. |
New Feature
Upon installing ARK-4, new XMB elements are added to the Extras/Game sections of the menu. Personally, I don't want the custom launcher, neither do I want the plugins manager on my XMB. There should be a way to either:
