"Join us" link in Latest News screen is not responding - Android app v1.0.1

Steps to reproduce
Open the App
Open Hamburger menu
Tap "Latest News" to navigate to SafePath News screen
Tap on link "Join us"

Expected Behavior
"Join us" screen should be displayed

Actual Behavior
No response on tapping the link

I suspect that all of these (#731,#733) are related, perhaps we should combine the issues?
Whoever fixes them will probably do a single PR, be sure to link each of the issues to that PR.

I started looking for quick issues I can start with and get used to the codebase. I will start with this and also fix #731 and #733. Let me know if anyone else started fixing this?
