You have two times the command loadrt litexcnc. One on the first line and the second with the connection string. You cannot load two times the same module in LinuxCNC / HAL. Solution: remove the first line. So the commands would start with: |

The detection of the architecture is not going well. I will make a issue out of that one. To install the toolchain in your case, you can use: litexcnc install_toolchain --user -a x64 |

There are 2 (two) ethernet ports on your 5a-75. You must be patched into the port near to the green 5v screw-in connector. It took me quite a while to figure out why I was getting similar pingless result when I began, to find out only one port is enabled and I was patched in the wrong one. |

Later today I will start my old desktop PC and copy the exact settings. I've the feeling that the USB internet and the Ethernet adapter don't play nicely together. Which is I'm afraid outside my knowledge, because I have UTP wired Ethernet and Wifi. This is because either the card works or the internet works... Hopefully it will be resolved with the settings from the desktop. |

Next week I have a CNC convention, where I'll show LitexCNC and the sister-project HUB75HAT. For this convention I prepared a demo using a RaspberryPi, HUB75HAT, a 5A-75B and 2 BOBS for stepgen and encoders. The goal is to let a stepper motor follow the position of a encoder, so users can experience it workings. If you want to try this out with a PC, you have to change the configuration of the connection and the pins. The pins in this example are the default configs for HUB75HAT. Configuration: {

Depending on your location, you can either order a set of bypasses from PCBWAY or JLCPCB or I can send a set to you (Europe only, postage at your expense). |

In the previously mentioned repository you can find a KiCAD file for the 5A-75B. That's the only file I have. Due to the high number of connectors I had another approach for the 5A-75E. This problem has been resolved in version 1.2.2 of LitexCNC, released a few days ago. You can install it with: pip3 install -U litexcnc

You can choose any pin on the FPGA which you like. As long as you connect the SPI pins from the RPi to it. I have chosen in HUB75HAT and the examples to use the common pins for this purpose. |

Can you check by swapping the step/dir wires with another stepper whether the movement is transferred to that motor? Does this behavior also happen after a fresh start-up (meaning there has been no movement command), enabling the machine and then disabling the machine again? My apologies for the barage of questions, but this is to ensure that the creep is commanded from the FPGA or that it is noise. |

So the problem can be pinpointed to the position-mode. This means the problem is in the driver of the FPGA, not in the firmware. The firmware is always running in velocity mode. The position mode is completely done on the driver, which transforms the commanded position to a speed required to go that position. As soon as the machine is stopped, the flow of messages is still going on to the FPGA. This is required, because the FPGA still needs to read the state on mainly GPIO at this state (for example to enable the machine again with a button). As long as the messages are being passed on to the FPGA, new information on the speed is also send. The movement you describe: is this hunting back and forward to find a position, or is movement in a single direction (continuous slow creep). The issue of the humming is that the exact position cannot be found and the driver keeps compensating to get to the desired position. |

What do you mean "type 2"? Center-aligned PWM? AFAIK, this is not possible
right now without some improvement of FPGA firmware
