# Answering some of the "why" questions 

This section is intended to create a space for other members of the R-community to contribute their experiences. There are a lot of academic and professional backgrounds that are not typically encouraged or exposed to opportunities to learn programming. For this reason, the "why" is not always apparent and resources for specific backgrounds are not necessarily to come by.
