Unforget the "temporary weapon" mechanic Rydberg Reactor and Nam Humanum's first two missions use for prespawned fire extinguishers, and apply it to all extinguishers (SynTek Residental, Transport Facility, etc).
The mechanic was improved not so long after its release, and is no longer a problem:
It kinda sucked when an extinguisher was locked to the temporary slot, since if there were any enemies nearby, I had to drop it and then pick it back up after killing said enemy instead of swapping guns normally - the increased vulnerability/no-shoot time just made another drone spawn in that time frame, forcing me to drop extinguisher again, making little progress over time in result.
Now that emptying a weapon slot (such as by dropping the ammo satchel for a few seconds) allows the "temporary" extinguishers into a normal weapon slot, I can benefit from both better reaction time against enemies when there are any, and not having to go back to the dropped gun when no enemy.
...oh hey, no fire extinguishers at Humanum's third mission?
