What is the enhancement/feature you would like to see?
Last time I suggested like 5 features, 3 of which were already in the program as part of a setting I misunderstood. I THINK I've checked everywhere this time though...
Population of contents from direction Header is set to - Top, Bottom, Left, Right.
Currently populates the portal with Folder contents from the top and from the left - as a folder would populate them.
If possible, having them populate based on the direction of where the header position is so that they start closer to the mouse would be nice instead of having to size portals individually based on the number of icons.
Transparency setting for 'Use Image as Background.'
Currently I could only find a way to set transparency/Alpha through the color selector.
I did work around this by adjusting the alpha channel in another program and saving the image as a .png with transparency and I imagine this could be more trouble than it is worth but I don't know enough to know. Having a slider in the menu for this would also open up the option to add it as a slider for selected colors as well, rather than using the alpha selector within the color picker - which would be more convenient for 3.
Use Windows Color Scheme/Theme checkbox.
Could/would be the fastest way for a new user to set up their portals to match whatever custom Windows colors they've decided on.
Use Windows Color Scheme/Theme for settings menu/MainWindow - or just a dark mode option.
My eyes. :'( pls pray.
Step settings or Portal snap-to-grid.
I think Step Settings would be easier, but take up more menu space.
As an addition to the layout menu or perhaps if the main UI had a slider feature in addition to the manual entry for portal X/Y Position. That sometimes annoying, sometimes awesome feature that sliders have that will lock the selection at a common step as you slide the slider. Common steps like 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4 screen resolution, perhaps even with an additional checkbox on a portal-by-portal basis for subtracting the width or height of the portal and maybe 1/2 width or height of a portal. This is effectively the process I used for setting them up. eg; (Res Width / 2) - (Portal Width / 2) to center.
Either would streamline setting things up and making sure everything is aligned properly for a new user looking for quick out of box functionality. Snap-to-grid probably being much more familiar and easier for the end-user and overall less menu-ing.
Portals always open/Contents always showing.
I saved this for last because I thought was a feature previously or probably still is a feature now that I just couldn't find? Also helpful for setting things up though.
I'd imagine based on how much work you've put in so far that "basic" features like this were probably intentionally omitted because they're likely much less basic for the one who would be implementing them. But if it's less about the difficulty or time to implement and more that they weren't previously considered - I dunno, I guess that's what a suggestion is for?
Thanks again and always for the best dern desktop management application out there.
