Join an Open Science Community!

Data science can be lonely, demoralizing, and extremely time consuming. However, engaging with Open Science Communities can make the process more enjoyable, and will ultimately lead to better science. There are countless communities (virtual and in person) that embrace the open science mindset and value a culture of continued sharing and learning, while prioritizing diversity, equity, and belonging. Some communities include NMFS Open Science, NMFS R Users, Black in Marine Science, and R-Ladies.
